MAKE YOUR COMMITMENT TODAY : Pledge-Hemlock
The Order of the Arrow (OA) was founded in 1915 to recognize Scouts and Scouters
who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition
provides encouragement for others to live those ideals as well.
Members of Wagion Lodge 6 provide hundreds of hours of cheerful service that support
camping and other programs at our Council camps. But, the Council can’t survive on
volunteer work alone. The Council needs financial resources to deliver the Scouting
program and to maintain our Camps.
The Wagion Lodge Hemlock Society was founded in 2016 by the late Rich Hager. Rich
was the Lodge Advisor from 2015 to 2017, and was also a Vigil Honor member, a
Thunderbird Award Recipient, and an Eagle Scout. Rich wanted to encourage Wagion
Lodge members to support the Westmoreland-Fayette Council financially as well as
through cheerful service at Lodge weekends. The result was the Wagion Lodge
Hemlock Society.
Membership in the Hemlock Society is an outward expression of your dedication to
maintaining camping traditions and spirit and will inspire others to make that same
commitment.
Through a financial pledge of $1000, any Wagion member will be recognized as a
member of the Hemlock Society. Upon fulfillment of your commitment, you will receive
lifetime membership in the Hemlock Society; a recognition item consisting of a metallic
Thunderbird emblem suspended from a gold ribbon on which six hemlock branches are
embroidered; listing on the Hemlock Society Roll on the Wagion website; and
opportunities to meet with other Hemlock Society members.
Your tax-deductible contribution will be used by Wagion Lodge’s chartered organization,
the Westmoreland-Fayette Council, to support local Scouts and council operations. This
funding is vital to the youth camping program, and the preservation of our lodge, camps,
and council.
