2025 Unit Election Cycle: CONCLUDED
About Unit Elections:
Unit Elections serves as the bridge between each individual unit and the rest of the lodge. Their primary focus starts during the winter and into the spring before summer camp season starts. They facilitate the elections that take place each year to bring eligible members into the lodge. Beyond this, they also are available to answer all questions units may have about lodge relations.
Eligibility Requirements:
In order to become eligible to join the Order of the Arrow, one must:
- Obtain the rank of first class
- Have gone on 15 days and nights of camping
- Must be voted in by your fellow scouts or scouters
OA Representative Information:
The role of the OA representative in the troop is to communicate any information from the lodge to the members of the troop. The best example of this would be communicating about registration deadlines and event information.
Scoutmaster Involvement:
Although it is the primary function of the youth OA Representative, it can be a great help to have adult involvement in promoting the lodge, especially towards older youth members. Furthermore, most work with regard to the unit election cycle is done between committee leadership and unit leadership, so it’s imperative that Scoutmasters and other adult leadership work to ensure their youth pursue eligibility and understand the nature of the organization.
Committee Leadership:
Chairman – Jack Jefferies
Advisor – Kyle Collamer
