Thunderbird Award Transcript
Youth Thunderbird Award: Kenneth James Hager
Our youth recipient has been in scouting since he was a Tiger Cub. He
earned his arrow of light and moved on into the Boy Scout ranks. His
leadership skills began to develop and were rewarded with his Eagle Badge,
followed by several palms and over four-dozen merit badges. Religious
awards and conservation awards were also part of the mix.
Our recipient was inducted into the O.A. In October 2000, sealed his
membership in August of 2001, and was recognized with the Vigil Honor last
August. He has been an active leader in the lodge serving as a chairman
or officer the last four years. He has attended several Section
Conclaves and National Conferences as well as the National Leadership
Seminar.
Outside of scouting, our recipient is an active member in school
activities including National Honor Society, stage crew, class officer,
marching band, school musicals and plays and writes for the school
newspaper. He is also active in church activities.
Your 2005 youth Thunderbird Recipient is Lodge Chief Kenny Hager.
Adult Thunderbird Award: William K. Loeffler
Our adult recipient has a long history of getting involved in community
and youth organizations, including the B.S.A. As a member of the B.S.A.
our recipient has served in various leadership positions including
Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster. He also serves as a campmaster in
Westmoreland-Fayette Council and as a Unit Commissioner in his district.
Our recipient has been an active member of the lodge all throughout the
1990's until present, serving in various adviser positions and attending
several Section Conclaves. He was recognized with the Vigil Honor in
October 1995.
Outside of scouting our recipient has been involved with the Police
Athletics League for over 20 years and served a term as its president. He
has also served for five years for his townships Parks and Recreation
Board and as treasurer of his gun club.
